Syracuse is a medium-sized city situated in the geographic center of New York State approximately 250 miles northwest of New York City. The metro-area population totals approximately 500,000. The area offers a low cost of living and provides many social, cultural, and recreational options, including parks, museums, festivals, professional regional theater, and premier shopping venues. Syracuse and Central New York present a wide range of seasonal recreation and attractions ranging from water skiing and snow skiing, hiking in the Adirondacks, touring the historic sites, visiting wineries along the Finger Lakes, and biking on trails along the Erie Canal. Joining the lab
Graduate students who are interested in joining the lab through the Ph.D. or M.A. program in Biology at Syracuse University should contact me directly prior to submitting an application. In your email please: (1) introduce yourself, (2) outline how our research interests overlap, (3) provide some detail about your future career goals, and (4) include a short CV.
As an advisor I will support a range of career goals and interests, so long as there is sufficient overlap with my own (see ‘Research’ page). Before joining Syracuse, I worked in industry as a computational biologist, and will gladly mentor students who are interested in pursuing industry or academic positions.
